entertaining, fast-paced, body count (it's in the title), protagonists (and antagonists) you can root for

4 stars

Pretty good, fast paced, not a ton of action but it moves along with most of the twists coming at the end (I expected some, but they still got me). The characters are likable, even the antagonists, especially the women, who have more dimension than the men (not a given with male writers in this genre). Some serious themes touched upon, noirishly, but doesn't dwell, because, there's noirish business to attend to.
